How It Works

The tool uses a series of carefully crafted regular expressions to detect and replace common PII patterns:

Email Addresses — Any string matching user@domain.com is replaced with [EMAIL].

Phone Numbers — US, UK, and international formats like +1 (555) 123-4567 become [PHONE].

IP Addresses — IPv4 addresses like 192.168.1.1 are replaced with [IP].

Credit Card Numbers — 16-digit sequences are replaced with [CARD].
